Our grass-fed and finished whole beef is $8.00/lb $7.50/lb (preorder price) and your estimated final price is between $2400 - $4500 (dependent on size of cow) plus butcher costs. Your final price is determined by the hanging weight of the cow. Once the cow has been processed and weighed, you will receive an email with a link to pay for the final charge.
While the weight varies by animal, over the last number of years the average final packaged weight of a whole cow has been between 200 to 300 pounds of beef. The average hanging weight has been 300-400 pounds, but this is different from animal to animal - the hanging weight can vary as much as 200 or more pounds.
If beef is for dinner at your house, then this is for you! Many of our customers select a whole beef every year, whether it's all for them, as we do in our family, or they are splitting it with another family, the whole beef is your very best value. It gives you complete control over what you want in your beef package. Like our half beef, you get custom cutting automatically included with your beef package. And just like with the half beef we work with you hand in hand to help you decide what cuts you want and how you want them packaged.

What’s a Hanging Pound?
*Hanging weight refers to the weight of the carcass before it is trimmed down to the individual cuts you receive. This process results in receiving less meat than the hanging weight.
Our prices are based on "hanging" pounds. Hanging weight is about 50 – 60% of the weight of "live weight" (also called "on the hoof"). Finished weight is about 55-60% of hanging weight, depending on your custom cut instructions - like whether you cut bone-in or not, for example. At Winters Cattle Ranch, you are only charged for the hanging weight of your whole cow.
