Please note: we will contact you after purchase with anticipated butcher date.
Practices: Rotationally Grazed, Dryland Grazed, Grass Fed, Grass Finished. Under one year old.
Our grass-fed and finished whole veal is $9.00/lb and your estimated final price is between $2500-$3000 (dependent on size of veal calf) plus butcher costs. Your final price is determined by the hanging weight of the veal calf. Once the veal calf has been processed and weighed, you will receive an email with a link to pay for your final charge.
The average hanging weight of our whole veal is around 250-300 pounds, but this can vary from animal to animal.
If veal is for dinner at your house, then this is for you! Many of our customers select a whole veal every year, whether it's all for them, as we do in our family, or they are splitting it with another family, the whole veal is your very best value. It gives you complete control over what you want in your veal package. Like our half veal, you get custom cutting automatically included with your veal package. And just like with the half veal we work with you hand in hand to help you decide what cuts you want and how you want them packaged.
PICK UP AT BUTCHER OR HAVE DELIVERED TO YOUR HOME (additional delivery fee)
$750 non-refundable deposit / remainder due on butcher date once veal has been weighed
Total amount due to Winters Ranch: $2500 - $3000 (depending on size of veal calf and hanging weight)
Plus Butcher Fees: You will also be responsible for paying the butcher costs per hanging pound for butcher fees, but these may vary. Processing fees will include the slaughter plant processing fee, the cost of boxes, and the responsible disposal/reuse fee for the few unused parts of the steer/heifer.
Make a Deposit:
Your deposit ensures that one of our veal calfs will be grown just for you. The total deposit will be applied to the final cost of the order.
What’s a Hanging Pound?
Our prices are based on "hanging" pounds. Hanging weight is about 50 – 60% of the weight of "live weight" (also called "on the hoof"). Finished weight is about 55-60% of hanging weight, depending on your custom cut instructions - like whether you cut bone-in or not, for example. At Winters Cattle Ranch, you are only charged for the hanging weight of your whole veal calf.
