What Is Hanging Weight?

Hanging weight is the weight of the carcass after harvest and before it is processed into individual cuts.

Your packaged take-home beef will weigh less than the hanging weight because bones, moisture, and trim are removed during processing.

At Winters Ranch, you are charged based on the actual hanging weight of your animal, which is the industry standard for purchasing bulk beef.
